All these latino politician conduct themselves just like the South American dictators do. They get into office without having a POT TO PISS IN and while they are in office, they enrich themselves through various means.

They should all be kicked out of office. Nunez reminds me of the saying, "you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear." ... By the way, he wears the wrong suits if he wants to be taken seriously as a bon vivant. The suit to buy is a BRIONI ..

Art Pedroza, thank you for your thoughts. I am not too familiar w/ Santa Ana politics, but I do think that Miguel Pulido runs that city like it is his fiefdom. He has been on that council for way too long.

I hate to say it, but it seems that politicians from Mexico absorb a lot of the bad tricks and corruption that go on there. As one of the participants on this blogs likes to call it, a "third-world mentality" -- which means that they don't look too far into the future and only care about personal gain when they have an opportunity to enrich themselves. In many ways, we Americans aren't much better, but in the third world, the corruption seems to brew more at the surface, whereas here, our leaders hide it a little better.

You know, how hard would it have been for Fabian to admit that he made a mistake and will consider his donors and consituents before spending campaign money so freely? A simple apology would have gone a long way and would have stopped much of this examination of his spending. But no, he had to try to defend his spending and spin it that all of those bills were justified. His arrogance and unwillingness to admit that he did something wrong is what really bothers me.

Nunez is a fraud. Just like Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido and his lame puppets David Benavides and Carlos Bustamante. These guys have forgotten where they came from.

In fact the Santa Ana City Council, which is all-Latino, had agendized a resolution of support for the Dream Act, and Pulido had Benavides pull it off the agenda, so Bustamante, a Republican, would not have to publicly vote no against it. What joke! And Pulido is an immigrant from Mexico!

Don't get me started on Pulido's millions...and his hobbies are speaking French and playing tennis. To top it all off, he is a vegetarian! We need to pull his Latino status and make him an honorary Minuteman.

BTW, Pulido did appoint a Minuteman to our Library Board...

Webmaster; a large percentage of monies donated to U.S. politicians originate as taxpayer monies. Funds from unions originate as monies taken from union members from their after taxed wages. The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor has funneled millions of dollars into this man’s campaign funds, and where did that originate? Fabian Nunez does not see himself as a civil servant.

Bearguez,

It wasn't "taxpayer expense." The money came from his Friends of Fabian account, which is made up of private donations from people who want to buy time with the Assembly speaker. I would love to hear the justification for the "meeting" in the wine shop though.

My point is that he should be cautious with his donors' money.

Why are you concerned about that? You aren't invited. You didn't donate your annual salary to his campaign, and you don't look like Barbie.

The Mitchell Brothers are reserving a VIP room for Fabian and his inner staff to conference with those other constituents he has in San Francisco. I understand it will be a wine and cheese gathering, and that all the attendees that will there are six feet tall and resemble Barbie.
