Villarsalinas – officially over! LA Mayor is single again.

November 24th, 2007 · 5 Comments

I had a feeling that this relationship between Mayor Villaraigosa and Mirthala Salinas would be rather short lived, and in keeping with the latest rumors, two sources have confirmed to the LA Times that the relationship ended earlier this fall. I’m sure that both parties are kicking themselves as this drama wasn’t worth the damage, but maybe Mayor Villaraigosa was that desperate to get out of his marriage. Who really knows?! But I can only hope that other aspiring politicians take note of this affair and think twice before engaging in such relationships.

Why are we even talking about this? Just because Fabian Nunez and the Mayor have slept with this same woman doesn’t make this news worthy. We should all note the small-minded, self-serving attitudes that exist within the political thinking of Fabian Nunez and the Mayor. Neither one of them has accomplished goals they openly promised to public. The Mayor failed in his goals to raise the standards of the LAUSD, the LAPD is still a violent organization towards certain ethnic groups, and there are still a lot of potholes in the city. Fabian Nunez is only interested in lining his pockets with cash, planting his lips on Hillary Clinton’s buttocks, and echoing whatever the Governor says. Let’s talk about change and getting these people out of office. Who cares what whores they sleep with!

I don’t think they ever learn… did Clinton? He had a ‘history’, it wasn’t until it blew up into his face (just like bill) , that he just got his just desserts.

Maybe it’s a cultural thing. And Latino politicians in the U.S. have forgotten that they are civil servants representing the needs of U.S. citizens. They all can’t be Henry B. Gonzalez. Not even Charlie Gonzalez can hold a candle to his father. Look at how Mexican politicians flaunt their corruptive nature to their public. They are almost as bad as Dick Cheney!

I really enjoy your site. Finally we can discuss the unfortunate affairs of “chicano” politics. If you want to know why so many of “our” elected politicians are the way they are read the History of the PRI. The PRI was originally a revolutionary party with a mass base, but instead of getting rid of the historial baggage from the Spanish/criollo traditions of power, they became just like them corrupt with special priveleges. A few years ago we were so hungry for Chicano representation that we elected a bunch of fools.

Califa State Senator Joseph Montoya – ex felon who served time for kicikbacks and influence peddling. I heard he cries everytime he goes by the Commerce Casino. $$$$

Califa State Senator Art Torres – boracho, malloso and anti-democratic
head of the CA democratic party.

Califa State Senator Richard Polanco – Corrupt and immortal.

LA Councilman Richard Alatorre – One more linea of coca and will meet. Did you bring me the money.
LA Councilman Mike Hernandez – One more linea and bring out the
    strippers and the porno.
LA Councilman Richard Alarcon – This guy is so bad he not only cheats on
his wife but cheats on his girlfriend.

You don’t need to wonder why many young chicanos are registering independent and many more don’s give a tuck about politics.

I think we should hold our political candidates to some standards and make them take a loyalty oath to the gente before we vote for them.

It’s everyone’s political leaders, not just Chicanos. As for Art Torres, Bill Press had not choice but to appoint him… the was no one else qualified.
