Bill Richardson to drop out of presidential race.

January 10th, 2008 · 2 Comments

One of the most qualified candidates and the only Latino in the presidential race is expected to leave the presidential race this Thursday. Bill Richardson, the Democratic governor of New Mexico, advocated for an immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq and stressed his expansive foreign policy experience. He certainly has the credentials and experience, but I don’t think that he could compete with the charisma and name recognition of the other top three Democratic candidates. His personality didn’t shine as much as I would have liked to see. Hopefully, he will stay in the national scene. I think that he would be a decent mentor for some of the younger Latino politicians coming up the ranks.

I’d prefer him as a mentor over VIllaraigosa or Nunez.

    Sucks that he dropped out.

I agree…Richardson was a good candidate. Certainly the only Democratic candidate I could see myself voting for.
