More positive evidence – Immigrant neighborhoods have less crime!

March 18th, 2008 · 4 Comments

While combing the news today, I found this article about a recent Harvard study that bucks yet another stereotype about immigrants and crime. If I had a dime for every time I have ever heard that immigrants increase crime in this country, I would probably have enough money to bail out Bear Stearns.

While analyzing crime and immigration patterns in Chicago, Harvard sociologist Robert Sampson found that first-generation immigrants were 45 percent less likely to commit violence than third-generation Americans. Again, it seems that as immigrants become more acculturated to the American way and our culture of violence, we see a rise in crime, substance abuse, and hopelessness.

I doubt the Minutemen will post this study under their section on crime and gangs.

It usually takes two generations to understand the racial hatred flaunted on you by so-called God fearing Americans. The first generation is too busy working 18 hours a day, six days a week trying to survive to participate in any criminal behavior. They turn to crime when they realize their opportunities are limited by race and constant prosecution by local law-enforcement. The land of opportunities is paved by realities no one wants to talk about.

Right, let’s blame it on God fearing Americans and law-enforcement. We can ignore the through the roof high school drop out rate and young minorities starting families when their 16 or 17 years old. This second generation you speak of is also more likely to turn to gang activity and drugs because they have been neglected at home. The opportunities are there, but it’s up to the individual to make the choice between crime and education followed by hard work.

The real reason for the low or no crime issue is they don’t report crime nor do they co-operate with law enforcement. That IS their culture. Call the cops in mexico and you’ll be sorry you did.

People of color have to work three times harder, be twice as smart, and perform exceptionally to achieve professionally what a WASP takes for granted. Nothing is given to people of color. That’s why there are laws pertaining to this, although they are rarely enforced. Obviously, you’ve never been told by a policeman that you’re a potential criminal because your race is nothing but a bunch of criminals. Or by a Sunday school teacher, who says that skin color determines where you sit next to God. And that’s what I heard as a child. You can’t imagine what I hear as an adult. Economic survival is the primary cause of high school drop-outs.
