A lot has happened this week in the presidential election and of course events surrounding the 5 year anniversary of the war in Iraq. I haven’t had time to comment, but I will say something about those events in the next few days. However, I just learned that Governor Richardson, who attempted to become our first Latino president this year, is going to endorse Senator Barack Obama.
Governor Richardson, a superdelegate, was swayed by Obama’s speech this week on race and said, “I believe he is the kind of once-in-a-lifetime leader that can bring our nation together and restore America’s moral leadership in the world.”

I think that this endorsement is big. So many Latino leaders jumped on the Clinton bandwagon early on without considering Governor Richardson seriously when he was still in the race. Governor Richardson, who has vast executive and foreign policy experience, was a great presidential candidate on the issues, and like Barack Obama, he is ethnically mixed. I hope that this alliance will show all Americans that Latinos and blacks have common interests and are capable of working together to get this country back on track.
¡Gracias Governador Richardson!

Bill Richardson was not in the contest to win.
He ran one dull campaign and never addressed an issue that would have distinguished him from the rest. His endorsement of Barack Obama does not make sense to me. Obama, like many of the crowd he hangs with is no different than the many Black people who use the term “minority” before the cake arrives then the term means Black when they cut the cake. They want the biggest chunk or they go into a screeching, yelling mode that is supposed to intimidate you into silence. Bill Richardson has no shame nor a lack of appetite. Good riddence!
