Patti Solis Doyle talking with Obama’s Chief Strategist David Axelrod — Let the Healing Begin!

May 20th, 2008 · 4 Comments

Our favorite telenovela watching, former campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle is back in the news again. This time Politico is reporting that the former woman in charge of Hillaryland is speaking with Obama’s chief strategist, David Axelrod. Both know each other from their days working up the political ladder in Chicago. Solis Doyle has actually known Axelrod longer than she has known the Clintons.

While some may argue that Solis Doyle ran the Clinton campaign into a deep hole, I think that she might have something to offer Obama. I doubt that she would replace any of his key strategists, but she might be able to assist him in turning out the Latino vote, which Clinton’s operation did very well. She told Politico, “If Barack Obama’s the nominee, I’ll do everything I can to get him elected.” That’s the spirit of unity I like to see.

Maybe a change of environment will jump start her brain. But that habit of watching telenovelas during working hours, and that Queen Bee mentality could promote a brain drain with Obama’s campaign.

Surely not one of the best and the brightest…why doesn’t David Axelrod focus on Gloria Molina and Gloria Romero? They were intelligent enough to endorse Obama early on. This woman doesn’t have the intelligence to self-promote her own career.

Gloria Molina endorsed Hillary Clinton, but she had been very complimentary to Obama. GloMo knows how to play the game.

Besides we are talking about staff positions. Gloria Molina does not want to leave the board of supervisors to be a campaign staffer. She has more power where she is.

I don’t think that Axelrod will have a shortage of intelligent Latinos to pull into Obama’s campaign.

    Oh!!! Love this blog!
As an Obama supporter who has worked from the ground up and has traveled to other states to Barack the Vote, let me just say that the Latino outreach has been lacking!!!
If she does decide to jump on board, I think she might bring some much needed insight to the campaign!
Gloria Romero and Maria Elena Durazo are co-chairs of obama’s campaign as far as Latino outreach, and both have done amazing with the resources they have been give.
I sincerely hope some good things come out this!
