[...] Last but not least, compared to the Congressional Black Caucus, the CHC delegation voted atrociously : Artur Davis was the lone member of the CBC who voted for Stupak. Why couldn't the CHC conjure such discipline when voting a measure that would basically kill women's right to an abortion? Or are their votes exactly correlated to the 2007 "whore" scandal that rocked the CHC thanks to John Baca's leadership in disrespecting the women of the caucus? [...]

the reason why the 43 district keeps electing "working joe baca" and producing other less than qualified candidates is due to the demographics of the area. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California%27s_43rd_congressional_district

look at the ethnicity percentages, that alone should tell you why this man and others like him keep getting elected in that district

No, El Cholo, we're discussing the post above, which devotes a third of its space to Baca's slur against Sanchez and what that says about him. In fact, his insult about Sanchez earned him more press than just about anything else about him in the last two years. Since truth is a defense to libel and slander, any facts about Sanchez that tend to support Baca's insult are very relevant to how we judge his venality. Comments about Sanchez's immoral conduct are quite responsive to this post.

You’re making an excellent point here El Cholo. What does the Congressional Representation of Joe Baca say about California’s 43rd District? The preceding Congressional Representative, George E. Brown, Jr. was an active proponent of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, and was one of the first outspoken critics of the Vietnam War. So much so he voted against every defense spending bill during the Vietnam War. What will be Joe Baca’s legacy? That he moved public monies from the Congressional Hispanic Caucus to finance his children’s political campaigns, and when he was caught he defended himself by calling his primary accuser, Loretta Sanchez a whore? I realize public theft, especially by Congressional representatives is now in vogue, but calling Loretta Sanchez a whore is an insult to all those other women who practice that profession to put food on the table. For all those voters in the 43rd and 47th Congressional Districts who choose their candidates on the basis of their last names…shame on you. And you wonder why so little Federal tax dollars end up in your districts? There’s your answer.

We’re discussing Working Joe Baca, or is it Working Joe Caca? I can think of several other nicknames to direct at this trough feeding public piece of s&*#. However, comments regarding Loretta Sanchez should be directed to her blog posts, and there are several lengthy commentaries on this blog exclusively devoted to her antics all performed on the public’s dime. So let’s be focused here. We’re discussing Joe Baca. Working Joe Baca, Congressional Representative of California’s 43rd District. Which sounds like an oxymoron? Especially since this is one of the laziest, most ineffective public servants in Congress. Maybe it’s his name? After all Joe Baca’s name translates in English to Joe Cow. Maybe his cerebral functions are the mental equivalent of a cow. Moo…moo, and moo again. How does this guy even get elected? What does this say about the voters in California's 43rd district?

Loretta Sanchez's sex scandal with Jack Einwechter has all of the elements of a great political sex scandal--a sexy pol with a slutty image, a military officer, a Playboy connection, exotic international trysts, secret lives, Washington intrigue, etc. I guess the media is too distracted by the financial meltdown and a very interesting presidential election to give this the attention it deserves. But at least we have something to look forward to in the 111th Congress a this torrid tale of lust and power unfolds! Can't wait...

Joe Baca is living proof that you don’t have to have intelligence, communication skills, or even a conscience to be a U.S. Congressional Representative. Or maybe those traits have no value in the 43rd Congressional District?
