I am disgusted that I share the same name as this guy. No..I am of no relation to him, thank goodness. I think his son's (Esteban) actions are indicitive of the mentality instilled by his father Fabian. Fabian was regarded as a good politician. In fact he was garbage. He had a strong alliance to illegal immigrants, who's presensce in our country is a clear violation of law that nobody wants to address. Second, he masterminded Prop 93, which was a comletely self-serving bill that helped no one but him. He traveled lavishly around the world on campaign funds from those he was supposed to be working for. Instead...he was vacationing on thier dime. He can justify it anyway he wants. It is what it is. And it's disgusting. The guy is a crook. A phony. A liar. His son is just a chip off the ole block.

Its depressing to see how it is our society works. although some people believe its not important to continue talking about this I believe it is very important. I didn't know the young man who's life was taking away but I know if this would have happened to anyone else (who doesn't have political connections) it would have been over already! when I say over I mean they would be put in jail and treated like all the other killers. It's sad to see how kurupted the system is and how a person can be killed and the murder can be forgotten because of connections... just remember if he gets away with this Nuñez and his friends will feel like they can do whatever they want because Daddy Nuñez can always save the day!

It matters to me because the guy that was killed was my friend. I do NOT want Esteban Nunez to be let off soley because his father is a politician a and has pull. This blog has EVERYTHING to do with politics @ Anna. Not to mention, Rafael Garcia's father is an Administrative Law judge in Sacramento. Talk about a mess alright. The hearing is today and lasts 3 days. We will see how it all works out. Esteban's DA is trying to play it off like he had no part of it and ran off when the stabbing occurred. R.I.P Lu. You are forever missed and never forgotten.

Here's the list of top AIG recipients for the 2008 campaign:

1. Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., $103,100
2. Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., $101,332
3. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., $59,499
4. Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., $35,965
5. Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., $24,750
6. Former Gov. Mitt Romney, (R) Pres $20,850
7. Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., $19,975
8. Rep. John Larson, D-Conn, $19,750
9. Sen. John Sununu, R-N.H., $18,500
10. Former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani (R) Pres $13,200
11. Rep. Paul Kanjorski, D-Pa., $12,000
12. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., $11,000
If anyone should be in jail, it should be the above for not honoring their oath in upholding and abiding by the US constitution. Deceit is not Democrat or Republican phenomenom, its a greed and self serving phenomenom. AIG is not to blame in this situation, its the people we elect into government that knowingly allowed these clauses to be implemented, then lied about it. Thomas Jefferson once said, "Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

Fabian Nunez was considered an effective Seapker of the Assembly. For some reason you denigrate government service, and call it feeding off the public trough. That says more about your values and the low esteem in which you hold public service than it does about Nunez.

And then you say that he got his degree at age 31, as if that's a bad thing. Most Latinos don't get a degree at all.

Not everybody has the opportunity to attend college right out of high school. Some people have to work and save, and sometimes family obligations intrude. Nunez got an education and went out and made something of himself.

Furthermore, it doesn't matter if he's never owned a business. There is no evidence that somebody who has owned a business is a better legislator than anybody else. That's just more Republican propaganda to get us to elect CEOs like Meg Whitman. CEOs are the ones who are looting the taxpayers, demanding trillion dollar bailouts and giving themselves and their friends "bonuses." These people should be in prison.

Fabian Nunez is a perfect example of do nothing politicians we have in CA. A guy whose family came from Mexico so they could have a child on the US side of the border. A guy whose jobs prior to office were limited to Political Dirctor for LA County Labor and Government Affairs Dirctor for the LAUSD. Look at what a fine state that institution is in. He finally got his BA at the age of 31 and worked as a community organizer until he stuck his foot in the cash register known as state government. Nunez is that brand of politician who we have in abundance today. People who have never offered anything to the public other than taking public office and then attempting to live as a wealthy person on the backs of political donations and tax payers. Nunez has never run a business or created anything that didn't serve him. The icing on the cake is his continued allegiance to illegal aliens. Mr. Nunez has very little interest in doing anything that would benefit citizens of the US that he is suppossed to represent. If this is the type of person that American Latinos have to count on to get meaningful things done on our behalf we are screwed.

Famous Fabian Sayings, "The difference is there are some in politics who want to judge me in a certain manner. Because of the fact I am Mexican, they think I have to sleep under a cactus and eat from taco stands."[
