Latina Minuteman for Congress

April 6th, 2009 · 12 Comments

In light of Seneca’s recent blog posts on Latinos and the GOP, I thought that I would highlight a blog written for SiTV on a Latina GOP candidate in Illinois, who happens to be a Minuteman. Her name is Rosanna Pulido, and she’s running on the Republican ticket for the seat that has been vacated by Rahm Emanuel, who is currently serving as President Obama’s Chief of Staff. Here’s a clip of her on a local Chicago news station from last week:

What do you think?

Minutemen in Chicago? Are the fearful of an invasion via Navy Pier?

It took prompting from the reporter and about 2 min and 45 seconds into the interview for her to even mention immigration. She started off with the “I’m an outsider” theme. I think even she realizes immigration is a loser issue for her.

I always hate when politicians can spew out statistics like “Illinois pays $11 billion a year in services to illegal immigrants” but they are never asked to cite or verify their sources. So it just gets reported as a fact.

    She’s a peon.

The Minutemen are using her as a shill, as a way to inoculate themselves against charges of racism. If they could, they would deport her after they’ve used her up. It’s amazing how many people allow themselves to be manipulated.

So Bob if I said we blow 13 billion a year in CA on services for illegal aliens you would say I was lying?

Characterizing herself as an outsider is a misnomer! She won’t win and for once I agree with Anna.

    She’s a well known Malinchista.

It’s not her political party but her stance on immigration.

And she appears to be bitter about her thighs.

Looks and sounds like all of you dislike the fact that she supports the rule of law. You all betray your agenda of open border madness. I wonder if the immigration problem was that of a Danish sort if you would all be so up in arms. One thing that this site is full of is double standard latinos/latinas. Si se puede.

How can she be malinchista if she has no loyalty to Mexico, she’s American. Her stance on immigration is the same as Mexico’s stance on immigration, except we fail to enforce federal immigration law.

A person can express their opinion about immigration without joining a hate group.

As I said before, this woman is a shill. If she’s a member, then they must not be racist, right? Wrong.

I hope she crawls back under her rock.

Can you produce some evidence to support the Minutemen being a hate group?

A que Anita, you never seem to surprise me with your crazy comments.

This is one of our own, but I take it because she sides with the Reps, she’s just not good enough and or being is used. How absurd.

Shows how you and some of the others on this website are lopsided.

…everyone NEWS ALERT: NOT ALL LATINOS ARE DEMs…some of us are tired of being used by Dems to get voted in, get a bone thrown to us and then claim they are a party of unity…give me a break!!

And yes, Illi and Ca keep going bunkrupt because we keep paying for healthcare, schooling and a whole other public tit benefits, my own mother doesn’t qualify for until she’s broke and or a cool 62 years old. Please, send them home for all I care and let the Mexican Govt pay for their pverty, we have our own to take care of here!
