Last week, a friend of mine sent this article about the letter writing campaign some California politicians have involved themselves with for Esteban Nuñez, the former California Assembly Speaker’s son who will stand trial in the fall for murder. With all of the political and economic challenges facing the state of California and the nation, Mayor Villaraigosa, Assemblymember Kevin De Leon, labor representatives, and others have managed to attest to the young man’s character and that of his parents. The descriptions in those letters do provide a different narrative than the myspace pictures of the younger Nuñez.

The webmaster and Seneca have other responsibilities.
But I will be updating this blog more in the next day or two. I have more items to address. Its just that we do have other tasks and assignments.

If only I could say that Mayor V and bandits’ letter campaign for knife welding Estaban surprises me. Tomorrow morning several of my friends and I going to call the Mayor and Kevin de Leon’s offices to express our outrage and disgust for their pathetic, spineless act. Their letters don’t represent us. Actually I cannot remember when they have represented my best interest!

Exactly…and these people think we won’t notice this. And there are people who actually look at these people as political heroes. How ignorant is that!

“[Maria Nuñez] and her husband are hard-working, responsible individuals, who will do everything in their power to ensure that their son meets all court dates and abides by the law,”
A little late responsible parenting, don’t you think? Where were they when their little angel was running around torturing animals and playing gangsta? We know were “F” was, living large on his campaign contributions and screwing around on his wife.
The good thing is that this will be a jury trial and and most of the citizens of the good city of San Diego will never see them. This is one trial that I would be happy to sit on.

Youth is usually wasted on youth. But this group of gutter trash in this photograph displays how stupidity can even cross ethnic lines and be molded together to create an even larger group of stupidity.

Lowering your pants below the underwear line lets your fellow prison mates know your available. Ignorance is bliss and probably prison love…

It’s ok to be loyal to your friends, or their kids when they get arrested for murder and it is also important to allow free press to advise us on these relationships and loyalties because this is a failure of leadership. IF the Nuñez supporters were not Union leaders, politicos, elected officials, we would not be so upset. They should resign their positions, out of shame, and then write the letters of support.

Shame is a word Antonio Villaraigosa and Kevin de Leon haven’t been able to define yet. It is an emotion beyond their comprehension. Honor and commitment are other words these two men haven’t been able to add to their characters yet. And probably never will.
