Mayor Villaraigosa has another News Reporter Girlfriend

June 2nd, 2009 · 28 Comments

Without going into too much detail because the LA Times does a great job of it here, I thought that I would briefly comment on Mayor Villar and his new novia. It seems that despite being branded a “failure” in both his recent political activities and even in his personal life with his yet to be finalized divorce from wife Corina Villaraigosa, Villar does not have trouble hooking it up on the dating scene. That’s fine. We shouldn’t begrudge him of that, but it is odd how he finds company with women who can compromise their jobs and ethical standards in reporting on him. The news director at KTLA, where new girlfriend Lu Parker works, said that she will no longer be covering local politics. I wish the Mayor and his new significant other the best. May this relationship last longer than the one with Mirthala Salinas.

But in the end, I do think that politicians, especially elected officials, should try to avoid becoming romantically involved with someone who would raise conflict of interest issues.

Well…not to make excuses for the mayor, but he’s not very bright. And what cerebral capacities he does maintain, have long ago relocated to the lower part of his anatomy. This explains his inability in distinguishing with whom he is actually conversing with. Since the lies he readily expresses to the citizens of Los Angeles, are the same lies he tells female newscasters.

When I go downtown, and sit in traffic, all I now think about it is this mayor. Thanks for educating us about the priorities of Villaraigosa. It explains why we are all sitting in traffic. It explains why the parking police are so rabid. It explains why nothing ever gets done. It explains him, and everything that should matter, but doesn’t.

It looks like Steve Lopez of the Los Angeles Times is following your blog looking for inspiration.,0,1168254.column
I have heard commentary from reporters at the Washington Post, and the New York Times that your blog is source material for them to connect dots on political stories. You should be flattered. All I can say is keep up the good work keeping us informed of what’s going on politically.

If only the Mayor was as successful in finding effective and efficient resolutions to LA’s myriad of problems as he is as finding girlfriends. Which is worse: His subjecting LA citizens to his failure as a Mayor or his failure as a father?
Either one punishes those who didn’t volunteer for his disgusting, narcissist behavior and stupid decisions.

According to Steve Lopez’s LA Times article, the Mayor was seen in a bookstore? Could it be that the Mayor followed his girlfriend into the bookstore? I find it difficult to imagine this Mayor actually reading books. That requires effort.

Re: “If only the Mayor was as successful in finding effective and efficient resolutions to LA’s myriad of problems.”

What would you like him to do? I would like him to get more business to locate here. I think some of these problems can’t be fixed until they do something about immigration. It affects everything.

“What would you like him to do?”

What would I like him to do? Something. Anything. Roll up his sleeves and get to work improving Los Angeles like he promised he would do instead of rolling up his sleeves to fill a pot hole for ten seconds as he smiles at the camera taking his picture.

Forget campaigning for Hillary, Obama, and rushing to Washington whenever he figures he can get another photo op. Stay in Los Angeles, report to work each morning at City Hall at 8 a.m. and then leave at 5 p.m. after putting in an honest day’s work. Is that too much to ask?

    Re:” Something. Anything.”

In other words, you don’t know. Got it.

“In other words, you don’t know. Got it.”

How’s this? Turning Los Angeles and Hollywood back into the movie making towns they once were instead of taxing and putting roadblocks in front of motion picture companies that are forced to shoot in different states and countries because it so much cheaper NOT to make movies in Hollywood. The more movies that are made here, the more money and employment will be brought into the city. Right now a whopping three movies are scheduled to be made in Hollywood this year. Down from over a hundred last year.

Anna since you asked me: As Mayor he can stop cutting ribbons for every LA Convention Center events (ex. yesterday), stop attending every LA Dodgers home game, retract his character letter for Nunez Jr and call him a thug like he does every East LA and Compton knife-welding alleged murdering youth, work with LA teachers to keep their jobs, engage in critical thinking and constructive activities that resolve the immigration issues in southern California. As a father: Stop taking his daughter to every Hollywood event with him and his current reporter-of-the-quarter girlfriend, heal his family until the children are 18 years old (lest they become Nunez III and IVs). I apologize Anna I am dreaming of a leader with integrity, good character, self sacrificing, smart, honest, family man. Does this help?

When Mayor Villar is nowhere to be found in the City of Angels, just set up a news crew…

  • 12 Sandogg // Jun 3, 2009 at 3:01 pm

He’s like a moth to a flame. Hopefully after his term is done, we will no longer have to hear dull voice.

I feel bad for Lu, apparently she has no lofty career aspirations. I wonder if Tony calls Fabian and returns the favor after he’s done with her?

Its unfortunate, the problem with Mayor Villar handling mayoral duties, is frankly, he’s just not qualified for the position. He probably lacks critical and analytical thinking skills which are necessary for making integrative decisions. His difficulty passing the State Bar reflects this. His unlikely leadership skills makes him a perfect pawn for the union agenda, his alma mater.

Is he going to change his name to Villaparker ?

    Governor Villaparker ? Nah !

I am glad he likes women.
    Mayor Villarweiss ? Nah !

We learned sometime ago that Villaraigosa would be a disappointment so this isn’t surprising. Nor is it surprising that he continues to think somehow the rules of decorum and good judgment don’t apply to him. This guy is all about living the high life and found out that he could use politics as a route to get there.

At some point Los Angeles hopefully will get real leadership; my fear is the City’s best days are behind it.

Is this how Mayor Villar picks up chicks, by surfing all the news channels at 6:oo?

  • 17 Jesus (hey-soos) // Jun 5, 2009 at 9:45 pm

    Hey Webmistress,
Enough about this never-ending focus on the Mayor’s shortcomings.

Let’s have some debate on the appointment of a Cuban-American to the ambassadorship to Mexico

  • 18 theKaiser // Jun 6, 2009 at 11:23 am

Whether Villaraigosa believes he is emulating Bill Clinton with all his pig behavior, and using it to rationalize his standing in the political arena, can only be answered by Villaraigosa himself. However, this may be too deep of a question for him to even comprehend. Bill Clinton managed to accomplish many positive things throughout his tenure in public service, despite his pig behavior. Villaraigosa has only been successful getting convicted criminals sentences commuted from State and Federal prisons, making promises to the public and never honoring them, and funneling public monies to developers. All he has done is fully embrace the typical stereotype of the corrupt Latino politician with his public behavior.

Hate him or love him (I suspect the earlier), you gotta hand it to Mayor V…at least his taste in women is improving…

  • 20 Professor Y // Jun 10, 2009 at 7:02 pm

Villaraigosa made the cover of Los Angeles Magazine’s June Issue. Guess he isn’t dating magazine reporters. Although the picture on the cover is flattering in bold font the word in all caps is FAILURE!!!

  • 21 El Cholo // Jun 11, 2009 at 2:55 pm

Villaraigosa is what he has always been. Just several inches taller than Joe Baca, and one to two points higher on the intelligence quota. There isn’t a developer in the Southland who doesn’t love this man.

  • 22 theKaiser // Jun 11, 2009 at 4:51 pm

Not even those Hickey-Freeman custom suits can hide the smell of the feces clogging his cerebral vortex. There he goes, sniffing his way down Wilshire Boulevard wondering “Where’s The Subway,” unable to find one of those “Million Trees” to mark along the way to another photo-op.

  • 23 Nando // Jun 14, 2009 at 12:50 pm

Please stop the mayor bashing. This guy has done alot for the city. We need to start supporting our mayor and getting behind him, so what he’s dating, he’s also fighting DC for money for the city and crime “IS DOWN” when in most cities “CRIME IS UP”. LA has never had a do all mayor, so we get what we get, we all voted for this guy. Let’s not start giving up on this guy just yet. Alot has happen over the last few years that had nothing to do with this guy taking this job, so let’s be fair. He’s in the spot light because the city he runs, not because the girl he dates. Let’s all stay and let this guy ruin our city as he wishes. It’s a dump after all:)

All people is envy of Villaraigosa because his success with girlfriends even he is 55 years old. He has the charming of latin man. Latin people dont have any problem to have dates. They are very social, friendly and out going, different than white men. Why do you think that in this country we have a lot of bussines that help people to match each other?. Why do you think that geek guy create the social network here and it is a success? Latin men dont need to go to internet to meet somebody. So Villarraigosa has his sex appeal. Leave him alone.

  • 27 Greg // Apr 3, 2012 at 12:04 am

Mayor was getting cozy this weekend with a short haired black lady. They were at a resort in palm springs at the fire pit late. Right in front of me. So no Lu Parker anymore I guess.

  • 28 gtoni // Aug 23, 2012 at 9:19 pm
