Broadway just didn’t resemble Tijuana’s main streets like it does now, which has brought the negative Latino immigrant issues out in the open. It’s been a long time since we’ve had such an inactive, hands-on Mayor, or a Mayor as cerebrally challenged as Villaraigosa is dealing with social/race/class related problems. It also doesn’t help that several of the city councilpersons who’s districts are predominately immigrant aren’t very active in their communities, or in finding solutions. However, of course the Mayor’s public behavior doesn’t really inspire that. Now does it? Los Angeles has always had social/race/class related problems. What impact do you think it has on a city to add millions of unskilled people who can’t speak English, or vote, and who use a large share of government services? Formerly middle class areas that used to have a solid tax base are now full of grafitti and populated by millions of poor people. Hmmm…I wonder why. Get a clue. The middle class and the poor, many of whom are Latino, are going to be destroyed by this budget. Some people are going to end up in the street or dead, and nobody in power gives a schitt. This is a real issue, not who people are sleeping with. I don't know why you can't separate real issues from soap opera, tabloid issues. It's like an obsession.
