Could the latest revelations about Dick Cheney & the CIA be why Obama is extending his security protection?

July 11th, 2009 · 5 Comments

Former President George W. Bush and puppet master of the universe Dick Cheney are the gifts that keep giving. Just when you think we are moving ahead, additional troubling revelations come to light. Today we learn that former Vice President Cheney ordered the CIA to keep information from Congress. So much for checks and balances and congressional oversight, right?

But in light of today’s news, I wonder if this is the reason why President Obama is extending secret service protection for Dick Cheney. Vice Presidents do not get extended secret service protection after leaving office.  But as the blogger at Gawker speculates, “…so Obama is protecting Cheney from someone. Or maybe he is protecting all of us from Dick Cheney?”

Dick Cheney is not only an Iraqi war profiteer, but he’s the point man for promoting fear and terror throughout the world, in an effort to further stimulate U.S. arms sales abroad and continue the U.S. war time economy in Third World countries with potential oil deposits. Not only did he successfully fleece the U.S. taxpayer by forwarding tax dollars directly to Halliburton for non-itemized support services, but he arranged for Halliburton to continue in its role, even after they relocated their corporate offices to Dubai to prevent them from being audited by the GAO and the IRS. From a taxpayer perspective, as a public servant Dick Cheney is a repulsive human being. Yet, he is lionized by the GOP much in the same way as Adolf Hitler was by the far right in Germany at the time. Providing secret service protection for Dick Cheney is a clever way for the Obama administration to follow rumors and leads that pertain to the past and future activities of the Bush Administration, and hopefully undermine those efforts that tried to turn the U.S. into a police state. There is no question this was the smartest thing to do.

I would say he’s protecting us from Dick Cheney. Anyone who has read and digested the report on the 9/11 commission knows this is a man with little reverence for humanity.

    Michaelr,

So setting aside that Dick Cheney is a scoundral, you believe that Obama, in all his forthright transparency(rolls eyes), is looking our for the American public’s best interest?

Hold your friends close…but hold your enemies closer. Clever move by Obama. There’s nothing more intricate than to use rhetoric from “The Godfather,” to explain political movement.

Joe Citizen I would never, ever suggest that Dick Cheney is a scoundrel. That I don’t know but I do know he has used the office of the Vice President in ways that makes Richard Nixon seem like the Mother Angelica!
