If Hilda Solis and Sotomayor are what you all see is a path to latino haven you will continue to make the same mistakes for another century. The policies of both will guarantee that latinos en mass will be at the bottom rung of the economic ladder. First place to start is parenting, english and education. It is not anyone's fault that we don't have these. It is our own. The middle class white guy in Huntington Beach has far more in common with me than Tony Villaraigosa, Hilda Solis, Baca, Sanchez or Juizar. We get up and go to work everyday. We send our kids to public school. We drive the same freeways. We pay the same taxes. The rest of these dirtbags pretend to know me because our skin is brown and then continue to ignore our problems. They are too busy living a lifestyle that they could not had they not stuck their faces in the public trough. Many know nothing about running a business. And you all continue to think the enemy has lighter skin. How foolish you are.

Re: "I just don’t agree with the idea of supporting Latinos only because they are Latinos."

I don't do that. As I have said before, if people want better representation, then they should go out and recruit better people to run. You don't just tear down what you already have without something better to replace it. Furthermore, you seem to forget that politicians are first and foremost responsible to the people who live and vote in their districts.

As for El Cholo, you have low self-esteem.

We have done studies to determine why the Hispanic Community continually elects people of such low character to represent their political interests in D.C., and in Sacramento. While Hilda Solis, Raul Grijalva, and the late Henry B. Gonzalez are complete anomalies as Latino politicians, jurists like Sonia Sotomayor are even rarer. There is a reason why non-profit Hispanic civil rights organizations are so inept in protecting and securing the legal rights of Latinos who are abused by the courts. So much of this stems from the complete ignorance on how the American political system works. The other reasons are cultural and short-sighted visions that have prevented the Hispanic community from achieving something even similar to the Black community. Your attitude protects the status quo by catering to these lowlife Latino politicians, and blocks potential politicians like Hilda Solis and Raul Grijalva from rising to the forefront.

Anna, you seem to have stronger commitments than Sanchez herself, perhaps you could run. I agree with a lot of your comments here. I just don't agree with the idea of supporting Latinos only because they are Latinos. That doesn't mean I believe that we should attack our own indiscriminately either. It just depends on the politician.

Re: " “I don’t have anything against the Dream Act,” however I continue to support all those coconut politicians in Congress for not doing anything and taking up space..."

No, I just don't want Latinos to lose more seats in Congress over this issue like we lost Hilda Solis's old seat.
