Lou Dobbs vs. Latino in America: CNN’s hypocritical juxtaposition

October 14th, 2009 · 21 Comments

Back in July, I expressed my thoughts about CNN’s effort to reach out to Latinos, while continuing to give Lou Dobbs a platform. Since then, the movement to get Dobbs off the air on CNN has picked up momentum. Now, it is being reported that Dobbs is exploring his options and may head to Fox Business.

CNN’s airing of one Latino-themed series, Latino in America, does not cancel out or balance the continued airing of Dobbs’ irresponsible tirades. BastaDobbs is still in the signature collecting phase of its campaign to deliver a list of names and personal comments to CNN’s President Jon Klein asking him to drop Dobbs from the network. If you agree that it is irresponsible to continue giving Dobbs a platform to air his hate, please sign on. And if I haven’t convinced you yet, watch this video that illustrates CNN’s blatant hypocrisy:

I have been watching CNN but I change the channel if Dobbs is on – now I won’t watch CNN….

It was inevitable once the Reagan administration deregulated the FCC that Network Television and Radio content would succumb to this guttural level of racist jargon. CNN sees how profitable FOX News is in the marketplace and has decided to emulate them. Print media still reigns as the most decisive way to disseminate media content accurately. It’s easier to promote propaganda and hate based media as truth through radio and television. CNN is just the latest example of this attempt to guide us closer to Big Brother and 1984.

That a blog would attack Lou Dobbs and make demands that he be taken off the air is a perfect example of Marxist inspired hypocrisy, and those that cannot stand to have their Utopian fallacy politics exposed for all to see.

Apparently they feel it better for them to hide behind race and victim status than to take responsibility for their own future. They instead, attack any and all outlets of opposing viewpoints in true statist and collectivist fashion.

I remind them that this is the United States of American; the very country where ones life, liberty, and happiness are proportional to ones effort. The very liberty and effort that these so called champions attack through their insistence of imposing a failed leftist ideology that attempts to destroy our nations success.

They espouse redistribution of wealth, so as to remove reason for any productive effort. They have done wonders to help convert lawful defense into crime through the support of onerous anti-gun laws which give criminals free reign. They wish, without risk, to exploit the liberty of others through increased taxes for various questionable programs. They agitate in support for their unscrupulous representatives to have unquestioned power to “change” our successful way of life while blaming their own failure on the opposition, yet they have the audacity to tout unearned moral authority.

It’s also obvious that our mainstream media is by and large overwhelmingly biased toward leftist viewpoints and multiculturalism even when our nation is not. You would almost never guess that these complainers that make demands are the “tolerant” people of the left. That this blog and other moral relativists cannot stand Lou Dobbs is certainly very telling.

Your movement is no inspiration to Latino males such as myself. It is an embarrassment. Instead of complaining about the opposition to your failed ideology, you should instead try studying the United States Constitution and its authors. You may very well learn something.

dodds makes it real easy for me to change channels. He should have stuck with business news where he was better informed and more balanced. Now he just spews hate with a smile.

I could care less if Dobbs goes or stays…frankly; I think it’s a waste of time for you to even try to boycott Dobbs. Shows a lack of sense of directions with these things.

What’s true is Illegal Immigrants do make a large percentage of the crime problem in the US…again, could care less if Dobbs got his stats wrong, it doesn’t take away from the fact; Illegals continue to pose a threat to America/ns as far as sex crimes, terrorist, drugs and drug cartels (MS13), and recently the further spread of HINI coming across our borders. Because Dobbs highlights this it enrages you…?

Instead of focusing on the real problem (Illegals that is) you choose your battle with a meaningless ratings-grabbing Lou Dobbs. That’s senseless to me and shows America’s moral compass is broke.

Looks like you’ve internalized all of Dobbs’s misinformation. You spew this stuff as though it were fact. Turn off right wing talk radio/tv. It’s racist propaganda, nothing more.

Re: “Your movement is no inspiration to Latino males such as myself. It is an embarrassment.”

I find YOU embarrassing. For the life of me, I don’t understand the mentality of people who won’t stand up for themselves.

CNN is making money by spreading lies about Latinos. It’s as simple as that. It’s gone way beyond the topic of illegal immigration.

And you throw around words like “socialism” and “constitution” but like most right wingers, you don’t know what they mean. You guys are conditioned to know your place.

The fact is that CNN is a business and at any time the consumers of their product have the right to boycott the channel and its sponsors. People don’t have to be passive recipients of whatever lies these media corporations spew.

There needs to be a boycott of Dobbs’s advertisers. Writing letters doesn’t impact CNN’s bottom line.

My Hat Tip to Anna for being, obviously correct.

As to Ramon, he has yet to decide whether he’s enjoying Hell or Heaven. However, the noted writer, Steven Benen said it best and recently, “They [neo-cons] got exactly what they wanted to do–torture, preemptive war, abandoning the Rule of Law, abandoning democractic norms, alienating allies, ignoring the concept of international cooperation–and they failed anyway.”

And as a military vet who has laced up the combat boots and strapped on the body armor, my Fallen Comrades, would be disappointed in you for castigating those and whom would disagree with you.

    Re: Anna

“I find YOU embarrassing. For the life of me, I don’t understand the mentality of people who won’t stand up for themselves. ”

I find you insulting for the life of me. I do not understand the mentality of people that have no clue. It’s obvious that in your illogical “tolerant” mind you and your soft counter revolutionary friends are the only ones who can help those those poor colored people because they are too dumb and incapable. No thank you.

I completely reject your disingenuous call for attention toward Lou Dobbs. It’s more likely standard operating procedure for the left because it’s an attempt to silence opposition. You’re either complicit, or wholly ignorant.

    Re: Jaango

“And as a military vet who has laced up the combat boots and strapped on the body armor, my Fallen Comrades, would be disappointed in you for castigating those and whom would disagree with you.’

I would appreciate it if you did not speak of the fallen as if you speak for them. You do not.

    Well put Ramon!!

Re: “your soft counter revolutionary friends are the only ones who can help those those poor colored people because they are too dumb and incapable. No thank you.”

Huh? You’re projecting all sorts of stuff on me that has nothing to do with what I posted. Who are my “counter revolutionary” friends? lol

And I don’t understand why you think that boycotting Lou Dobbs is somehow condescending to”poor colored people.” I have noticed that many conservative minorities are ashamed to stand up for themselves. They seem to think that if they take all kinds of crapola that bigots will eventually respect them. Nope, it doesn’t work that way. Your way of thinking leads to an Alberto Gonzalez.

Re: “it’s an attempt to silence opposition.”

It’s an attempt to stop the lies and the racist vitriol. He doesn’t stick to the facts. As I said before, CNN is a business and Lou Dobbs is one of their products. The consumers of that product have every right to boycott. You talk about socialism, but you don’t seem to understand capitalism.

How come Dobbs never goes after the Illegal Russian criminal gangs, nor the other Eastern European crime cartels nor the large Irish , Australian and Canadian illegals living in the USA? Have you ever heard him vent and spew about the increasing number of illegal Chinese coming into The USA? Those are the folks driving up crime and taking jobs from Americans.

  • 13 DoctorH // Oct 21, 2009 at 1:29 pm

Lou Dobbs likes to attack Latinos because our non-profit Civil Rights Organizations are owned by Corporate America. So there’s no backlash.

Hispanics ARE NOT your father’s immigrants. European immigrants made this Country great. Hispanic / Latino immigrants will be this Country’s demise.

Every single “empire” fell–the U.S. “empire” will fall because of the Hispanics and their 3rd World values and the fact the decent Latinos will not band together with the other decent people of the U.S. to get rid of the gang bangers etc. –instead, they give you rhetoric and claim that all Hispanics are good people and that everyone is a bigot or racist.

Why can Hispanics wave their flags in our face and be proud of their race, but when a white person does it–they are a bigot and/or racist?

The rise in the rapes and murders of little girls, is DIRECTLY related to the increase in the number of HISPANICS / LATINOS in this Country.

They bring their 3rd World values to this Country and they are sub-humans.

The raping and killing of little girls goes on EVERY SINGLE DAY IN HISPANIC countries–we just don’t hear about it in the U.S.

What Hispanic country is worth a sh*t??? I can’t think of a single one–even Spain is a piece of sh*t–getting off by stabbing bulls and dog fights and rooster fights? What is wrong with these sub-humans?

a todos los latinos pidiendo que lou Dobbs
sea despedido de C N N , porque no usar Tele-muno, Univsion y todos los canales Latinos
para difundir esta noticia, y se comuniquen
con C N N para ponerle un paro a Lou Dobbs.

Ramon, you do not speak for Hispanics. If you are embarrassed from being one, bad for you, we don’t count on people like you.
Not all hispanics here in the US are good people, and not all are bad people. And not all of us are illegal inmigrants either. Stop the harrassing of our people. Stop Lou Dobbs and is advertisers.

  • 20 Call me Roy // Nov 17, 2009 at 12:55 pm

It’s great to see Lou get out of CNN, what a joke they are becoming. Why do you think our worthless media and press do nothing but vomit worthless party crap all day long? Why do you think that they never talk about so many people giving up on both corrupt parties and registering Independent? I will tell you why. The media is owned by the Big Banks and Wall Street, just like they own you and me. How do you think the Big Banks could possibly gamble away hundreds of billions and then get “our” government to say they are too big to fail and give them billions of dollars with no recourse for the taxpayer? I will tell you why. Because the Big Banks own the Federal Reserve, who own most of our Congress, who control the lobbyists, who control the laws, who control your credit cards and your jobs. So the next time you get mad at these news stories and want to email CNN or NBC or Fox, take a deep breath and realize that you comments are worthless. The only contact that will ever make a difference is a cussing phone call to your Representative or Senator to tell them that the gravy train is almost over for them. Vote every incumbent out on his rear-end.
