More Loretta Sanchez inspired blog posts!

December 18th, 2009 · 8 Comments

The latest blog post about Loretta Sanchez and her lobbyist friend(s) has inspired a bunch of other Loretta related blog posts, including the uncovering of more pictures of Congresswoman Sanchez and John Saylor.

People are tiring of Sanchez’s antics, especially in light of the dire situation in her district and the general sentiment that she could be a better representative by speaking more forcefully for immigration reform and the DREAM Act, more specifically. Gustavo Arellano has a post up at the OC Weekly’s Navel Gazing blog detailing the main excuses that “Loretta Sanchez apologists” give for her positioning and posturing. The Orange Juice blog has another post up with some footage of Loretta Sanchez speaking passionately about the human rights situation in Vietnam, which she should do because she does have a large Vietnamese population in her district. Yet, Rep. Sanchez doesn’t show the same kind of concern or passion for the students in her district who are anxious to become contributing members to US society when they plead with her to co-sponsor the DREAM Act.

Finally, some will continue to say that we should blindly support Loretta because she’s Latina, and as Gustavo Arellano tells us, “a light-skinned one at that.” Or some will say, “Loretta hasn’t done anything illegal.” Is that the low standard we hold for leaders? Well, I can point to many Latinos of all shades who haven’t done anything illegal and who actually are unafraid to take a stand. In the end, I think that Loretta Sanchez is the type of politician who cares more about self service and what is convenient for her, which is why she reincarnated herself as a Democrat and a Sanchez after having been a Republican Brixey years ago. And the relationships with the lobbyists should give us all reason to pause, as influence peddling is an equal opportunity sport.

Transparency needs to happen now. We can no longer tolerate self-serving politicians who run for office simply to get rich. And Loretta Sanchez is a perfect example of a self-serving politician who has evaded all definitions of accountability. Thank you Adriana, Gustavo Arellano, and the Orange Juice Blog for shouting this loud and clear.

Whaaattt? Loretta Sanchez has not raised her voice in favor of the undocumented students????
We do not need Democrats who behave like the worst kind of Republicans.
We need Dems who stand up with the best and brightest of our schools and support the undocumented students who face so many obstacles believing in the American DREAM.
Please Loretta you are missing the boat! you are missing the most intense advocacy of the last years. Do Not Fail Us

“A light skinned one at that”. Ahhhh racism by those who denounce racism. Oh how ironic.

The pictures of Saylor are meaningless. He started the false rumors about having an affair with Loretta, but he is just another pathetic lobbyist caught exaggerating his relations with a member of congress. He has never had an affair with Loretta and has no relationship with her now. Loretta has been in a strong, committed relationship with her steady boyfriend, Jack Einwechter, for years. All other rumors, allegations and innuendoes are false. That’s the simple truth. There’s no political story there. I recommend you devote your attention and talents to commentary on the issues.

How about we focus on NObama and his lack of transparency…I could care less about Loretta, we’ve beat her silly on this blog. If her constituents don’t care why should we…I HAVE YET TO SEE ANYTHING on NOBAMA!

Update on the Sanchez (I’m)morality tale: Jack Einwechter’s house in Springfield, VA is where Loretta now calls home during the week. Jack divorced his faithful wife of 26 year and left their kids, in order to become Loretta’s domestic partner. I guess he was able to overlook all of her infidelities and indiscretions (see previous posts on this excellent blog). She lives with him here and he goes back to her Santa Ana house on the weekends and lives with her there. Hopefully Van Tran and the media will shine a light on this situation as we head into the election cycle. Voters have a right to know about the character of the person who seeks to represent them. Is this the Catholic or Latina role model we really want on the local and national stage? Not!
