Arizona does it again — this time going after US born children

June 14th, 2010 · 11 Comments

For people who follow the immigration debate closely, this should come as no surprise, but the state of Arizona is stepping into another constitutional quagmire with the fourteenth amendment that establishes birthright citizenship. There is a new law being proposed in Arizona that would deny birth certificates to children of undocumented immigrants who are born in the Grand Canyon state, introduced by Russell Pearce, the same legislator who championed SB 1070.

Here’s a video of Arizona Governor Jan Brewer explaining what she envisions happening:

This is completely violating the U.S. Constitution. If they are born on U.S. soil, they are Americans!! The same goes if they are born on military bases around the world. Pearce has a personal vendetta against anyone not of this country. If someone is trying to better their lives why not give them a chance to do so in our land of “opportunity.” This man NEEDS to be removed from office IMMEDIATELY!!

This doesn’t surprise me. Arizona is run by trashy racists. If any Hispanic person has money in an Arizona bank, it’s time to pull it out.

    Arizona “the outlaw state”..

Besides attempting to violate the US constitution by denying natural born babies born on US soil of their constitutional rights of citizenship..
Arizona,if successful in passing a state law denying birth certificates to children of undocumented workers could be liable to an entire range of crimes and violations related to this issue.
Remember Montgomery,Al and Little Rock,Ark as well as other states in the deep south during the late 50’s and 60’s?
Federal troops were sent in to enforce federal laws and protect, restore the constitutional rights of black US citizens.
IMHO,any county, city, hospital administrator, doctor, nurse or medical worker who conspires to deny US citizens their rights should be liable to arrest and federal prosecution.
The racists and xenophobes of Arizona as well as their supporters in other states have thrown down the gauntlet against Latinos, their cancerous hatred spreading from undocumented workers now to US citizens who happen to be Latino. There was another time in US history when US citizens were involved in internicene conflict that turned into was called “The Civil War”..
White American racists and xenophobes who support this insane Arizona plan to deny birth certificates to US citizens have gone way too far this time, now they are attacking fellow US citizens who happent to be Latino..
What would they want next? stripping all US Latinos citizens of their citizenship and declaring all of them “illegal aliens”?
because if you follow their madness to it’s logical conclusion this is where it’s going..

Latinos have to act to stop this insanity!’s not just about undocumented workers,it’s about US Latino citizens as well.. all these state supported racist, actual and proposed, xenophobic laws and legislation indicate the beginnings of a new “low-intensity” war declared by the majority of whites on the brown people of the USA?
    it sure looks that way!!

what about the biracial kids? Arizona has gone too far with this.. these kids were born here, they are our future. Now more than ever I am boycotting Arizona!! A@#holes!! the latino community needs to stand up for this.. even more the kids who were born here over 18 need to get out and use the right to vote and get these yahoo’s out of office.

Please consider contributing to this woman’s campaign: Andre Garcia,

She is running against Russel Pearce- yes we need him out. Garcia is a Libertarian and not taking taxpayer dollars to fund her campaign so please donate! She has a lot of local support from the Hispanic community and other groups of people including democrats and conservatives.

Pearce is a perpetual politician with a perpetual politician’s resources. We need to expose him for the biased and racist bigot that he is. He does not care about the people or their rights or the Constitution- Policing the people and asking them to prove their citizenship at their street corner or front door is not the America that we are taught to believe in. And the ends do not justify the means. SB1070 divides the people and makes us all suspicious of each other. Resist that urge and unite with your neighbor against power hungry politicians.

Please keep in mind that Arizonans DID NOT vote for this law. This was a bill in the legislature and Pearce is the 800 lb gorilla that scared and pressured other senators into voting for it.

Please consider writing as much negative press about Pearce and his career as you can- his bill sponsorships and voting records are on

The state of Arizona should secede from the U.S.
Lets see how well they do without a coastline and a
    friendly, southern, international border…….

    Let’s see:

First the Arizona legislature led by domestic terrorist sympathizer Russell Pearce passes a law that in essence legalizes racial profiling. Then, they pass a law that eliminates ethnic studies. Then some grown-arse morons complain about a mural being painted at an elementary school.

Now domestic terrorist sympathizer Pearce wants the CHILDREN who had no say in what their parents did to suffer.

You can’t spell crazy without AZ.

There is a special kind of karma that is going to come to this Reich-wing monster named Russell Pearce. He needs to be exposed for the white seperatist and supremacist that he is. Rachel Maddow can’t do it alone, there needs to be more reporting done.

Also check out Greg Palast who unlike that worm James O’Keefe is a REAL investigative journalist. He thinks that this is about purging votes

Chuck D should re-release “By the Time I get to Arizona” since history has somewhat repeated itself.

I think Palast is right. They don’t really need SB 1070 to arrest and deport illegal immigrants, but they couldn’t detain US citizens without this law. I wonder how many Democrats Arizona will detain on election day.

The problem isn’t the illegal alien.
The problem is the drug cartels and
the fact that the control large parts of the
    Southern Arizona . KIdnappings, robberies,
murders and drug smuggling by people
from another country . And now TWO
State Parks closed due to the violence .
This is unacceptable in the United
    States of America .
