Update from last week’s immigration actions

August 23rd, 2011 · 4 Comments

I have an update on the immigration happenings from last week over at DailyGrito describing the administration’s new policy on exercising prosecutorial discretion. Another piece worth reading for putting last week’s actions in context is this one by Roberto Lovato.

Also, today an informal e-mail poll has been circulating sent out by the Latino Voter’s League asking people whether they think Cecilia Muñoz should resign. I suspect that that the community is going to continue to try to hold her accountable for her remarks defending the Secure Communities program. What are your thoughts? Should energies be expended in trying to get Muñoz to resign over the President’s record on deportations and her defense of Secure Communities or should advocates look at other strategies to bring about change in immigration policies?

Who cares whether she resigns or not. Another cheap stunt…

I am so sick of this issue, and the mendacious way it’s been handled. Both Clinton and Bush 2 are responsible for this mess because they refused to close the border. They just looked the other way. Now we have a catastrophe and a President who doesn’t know how to lead on any issue.

I see no point in voting for Obama because you know exactly what you get with him, and it’s not good. I don’t just mean immigration, but the economy, education, the oil spill, the downgrade, the unconstitutional Super Committee, etc.

    Vote him out.

Pathetic to blame a presidient for anything. ESPECIALLY A F&*%ING OIL SPILL.

What you call blame is really called responsibility. For some reason his most ardent supporters do not expect anything of him at all.

As for the oil spill, he did nothing for six weeks, then surrendered to BP and even let them close off the area to the media. The Gulf doesn’t belong to BP!!!!

What are you talking about, Anna? NATO invaded Libya for BP. You don’t think something so trivial as the Gulf of Mexico doesn’t also belong to BP?
